DAT Prep Program For Pre-Dental Students

DentaQuest is partnering with SAID to support a DAT prep program for the purpose of preparing our member students with a desire to enter the practice of dentistry with academic coaching, admission test preparation, and mentoring. Our goal is to enable SAID Pre-Dental Students to successfully gain admission to a U.S. dental college and see success in their first year of academics.

2026 Students Awards 

The application window will open from March through April 2026. The following will be awarded at the 2026 conference in Minneapolis, MN, June 10-13, 2026. Click on the links below for more information.

George Blue Spruce Award for Student Excellence
(for students entering their final year of dental school in Fall 2026)

In 1990, Dr. George Blue Spruce was instrumental in founding the Society of American Indian Dentists (SAID) to continue his life’s work in the encouragement of American Indian individuals to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Blue Spruce has been recognized as the first American Indian dentist in the United States, and realizes that as a trailblazer, he bears the responsibility of illuminating the health professions pathway for American Indian and Alaska Native youth. Throughout his life, Dr. Blue Spruce has dared American Indian and Alaska Native individuals to recognize the importance of dentistry, and his unique leadership has left a legacy of promoting social mission in health professions education. All information must be provided by April 1, 2026.

Sponsored by SAID and Crest-OralB, this scholarship is available to one or more AI/AN dental students enrolled in a U.S. dental school.

Colgate Resident, Masters, Post-Bacc or PhD Award

Sponsored by SAID and Colgate, this scholarship is available to one or more AI/AN dental students enrolled in an accredited U.S. program with an oral health emphasis.  This can include dental residencies, Masters or Doctoral degree programs, and Post-baccalaureate programs, as long as the program has an oral health emphasis.
